"I think that the last year in high school isn't the time to make hard and fast decisions but this is the time to make mistakes. (and learn from it, of course)" - A.N
Grade 10 - Conquerors (SY 2014 - 2015)
Senior year, a.k.a the last year of high school (as of now). We were the last batch to graduate before the K-12 system would be implemented. This was a truly crucial year for us. If we fail this year, we will undergo 3 more years of high school because we will be affected of the K-12. We will go through another year of grade 10 + grade 11 + grade 12.
Basically, since we were the oldest among the students since we were the highest year so the lower batches look up to us and we were really expected by many to set as an example for the lower years.
We were all piled up with different kinds of work and duties (curricular and extracurricular) Like the exams, quizzes, projects, and especially our thesis + thesis defense. We really need to work our butts off. In addition to all that, we have our own organizations and team practices that we must attend. Some of us are part of the ACSI leaders, sports team, chorale group, dance group, etc. I can say that even though we weren't in college yet, we are already sleep-deprived.
Usually, the Grade 10 students organize the Intramurals week. All of us must be united in order to contribute and give our fellow students a good celebration. We have to organize the schedule of games, the distributions of jerseys, the program, etc. But we believe that we can all do that with the help of God. After the intramurals, we must pass our final copy of our theses and have our defenses after it.
The challenges given to us would be hard and if we weren't there to help and have each others' backs. We wouldn't be able to overcome it. Yes, we may fight and make many mistakes but we always make sure that we learn from it.
Another good thing is that we have a very lovely, kind, understanding, and beautiful adviser - Ms. Gina Nercua-Zamora. Without you, our Mama G, we wouldn't be able to grow academically, spiritually, and emotionally. We were able to learn many things from you. Forgive us if sometimes (or maybe most times) we give you headaches and heartaches. But let me tell you something, our love for you is unconditional. We won't ever forget the day you made us all united, the way you supported us in everything we do, for reminding us always that we can do all things if we just put our heart and mind into it, for teaching us etiquette's, for discovering the talents that we've never thought we've had all along. All the memories and lessons we've learned from you are unforgettable and we will surely remember it in our lifetime. You're the best, Mama G. We love you!
Conquees, good luck to our new journeys that we will face ahead. Bonding agad agad after college! Keep in touch, okay?
